A luxury self catering holiday cottage in Keswick, the Lake District.
Scots Pine forms part of a large Georgian manor house steeped in history. Scots Pine itself is a beautiful Victorian cottage with its own self enclosed garden and terrace area. It has the double attraction of being quiet and peaceful but also being only a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Keswick down an attractive and easy to navigate footpath.

Upon entering the luxury cottage one steps into the glorious, spacious kitchen. There are numerous handy coat hooks for all one’s outdoor gear on the right with Boot Trays beneath for all muddy outdoor shoes and boots. The kitchen itself is equipped to a very high standard. The oven is a fan oven with induction hob and extractor fan above. There is a microwave, fridge, freezer, Kitchen Aid food blender, toaster, kettle, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer and all the crockery and utensils one could want for one’s stay.
Tea, Coffee and sugar is provided, together with salt, black pepper and there is also a herb/spice condiment rack. A Cafetière is provided, together with a large teapot. There is washing up liquid, hand soap, hand sanitiser, cleaning products, dishcloth and sponge, and even a clever metal bar of soap to remove any garlic smells on one’s hands! Tea towels, spare bin liners, dishwasher tablets are also provided. Enjoy keeping up to date whilst cooking by watching one’s favourite programmes on the wall mounted television.
Walking through from the kitchen one enters the open plan living and dining area. A warm and cosy space with one side designated to the circular oak dining table and chairs overlooking the charming cobbled yard outside. To the other side is a large comfortable L-shaped leather sofa and coffee table. In front of the sofa and coffee table is a Smart television and DVD player and a music system to enjoy one’s CDs or music via Bluetooth. The wood burning stove nestles along the back wall of the living space. Logs, kindling, matches and fire lighters for a couple of fires are provided.
There is also a bookcase full of different kinds of books (including many with a local theme and a full set of Wainwrights to plan your walks!), games and a great selection of DVDs to enjoy whilst staying at the holiday cottage. The Welcome Folder has all the information to make one’s stay as comfortable and informed as possible is also on the bookcase with various leaflets about Lake District attractions and Take Away menus.
Leading off the living/dining area is the staircase that takes you up to the first floor landing. The banister is a wonderful example of original Victorian craftsmanship. Off the landing there are the two super king size bedrooms and the fabulous family bathroom.
The master bedroom has exposed beams and en-suite shower room. It has a super king size bed which can be made into 2 singles if required (Please inform the owner when making your booking). Dual aspect windows let in plenty of light and there is a built-in wardrobe with hangers provided. A chest and bedside tables provide additional storage space. A wall mounted television means one can enjoy a lazy morning or afternoon in bed without having to go downstairs to watch a favourite programme. The en-suite has a basin, loo and walk in shower with mixer shower and drencher head.
The second bedroom also has a super king size bed. This bedroom has a wardrobe with hangers, a wall mounted television and dual aspect windows. Both bedrooms boast original working shutters and sash windows as does the living room downstairs. Hairdryers and towels are provided.
The family bathroom has ‘Jack and Jill’ basins with cabinets underneath. The bath has a mixer shower with drencher head overhead. A generous starter amount of loo paper is provided in both bathrooms as are tissues and sanitary bags. Hand soap and shampoo/shower gel is also provided.
A charming enclosed garden with raised patio area. There are table and chairs for 4 and a bench. This is a tranquil and lovely space to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or tea and particularly pleasant to return to after a day out as it gets the afternoon/evening sun. The area is surrounded by shrubs but dogs will find a way out if you give them time!
There is private car parking space for one car. An additional car space can be arranged by prior request with the owner.
